Leadership Philosophy

This is Kingdom Quotes from Dr. Myles Munroe, Bahamas Faith Ministry. The quality of leadership is determined by philosophy.
Philosophy is the foundation of belief and thought.
Philosophy determines the motives and convictions of
a person and regulates their actions. In other words,
whatever your philosophy is will determine how you
behave and how you treat other people.
Philo- means love, and -osophy means thought
or knowledge. Therefore, philosophy means to be
in love with your own thoughts.Proverbs 23:7 says,
” As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he . . .”

The word “heart” is the Greek and Hebrew word
that means subconscious mind; it doesn’t mean the
thing in your chest. The word “heart” in Scripture is
referring to your subconscious mind -the part of you
where you store what you believe. The Bible says that
whatever is in there is who you really are. You are
what you think in your subconscious mind.So the way one thinks controls the way one acts.
Therefore, the quality of one’s leadership is in direct
relationship to his beliefs from which he bases his
philosophy and his values.
Therefore, leadership is as good as your philosophy.
The quality of your leadership is directly controlled by
y
our philosophy.
Values come from your philosophy.
Values have to do with the worth you place on something.
Your values are very important because they determine
h
ow you judge things as to whether they are important
or not. For instance, as a child I liked Cracker Jacks, and
I used to work my way down to the prize. There were the
sticky popcorn and peanuts, and then the prize was on
the bottom. Sometimes the prize was a plastic ring.
I remember getting a ring once, and that ring was so
important to me. However, I remember my parents
laughing at my ring because to them it had a different
value. To me it was worth a lot because I never had a
ring before. I felt that I was king of kings, but my parents
considered that ring to be a nuisance. Their value of that
ring was of a lesser worth. So when I was crying, looking
for the ring, their response was, “Oh, that’s a little piece
of junk.” I was weeping for what they called junk.
The difference was in our values. You may not think that this is important.
However, your philosophy creates your values, which
determines how much worth you place on things.
Therefore, if your value of people is low, you are going
to treat people like dirt.
How leaders think is critical to how they lead.
Whatever your philosophy is, that’s how you perform.
Therefore, I don’t want to know about your leadership
capability, I want to know your philosophy.
As I read it, it reminded me again to think it through what is my value…what do I put as the base of my value, is it from what the people around me says which is like a roller coaster…one moment they could be proud of me, one moment they could be disappointed in me, all based on conditions. Or is it from God’s eyes… Look into His eyes with your Spirit’s eyes and ask…Ask Him every morning…what do You see in me, who am I in Your eyes… (Ruth S)

Your sharing is interesting theme. The time goes pass by so fast, I am n’t so much aware for my value, sometimes it looks so abstract for me. It makes me to think now and I want to evaluate about my value in Christ and my purpose for life.

My philosophy is that God is my source
